ABOUT US

Epione Wellbeing Centre is run by a non-profit charity, formerly known as the Greek Cypriot Women’s Organisation. Initially established in the 1970s to provide educational and welfare support to Greek Cypriot women living in North London, the charity was renamed Epione Wellbeing Centre in 2020 to better reflect its expanding remit to serve the local community in Hornsey and the surrounding areas.

In Greek mythology, Epione is the Goddess of “soothing pain”. She was the wife of the medicine god Asklepios and mother to the Asklepiades, the goddesses of good health, healing and cures. They were named Hygeia (Good Health), Aigle (Radiance), Iaso (Healing), Panakeia (Cure-All) and Akeso (Curing).
